Yesterday I said that I couldn’t find a list of ways to have fun at work. Turns out I simply didn’t look hard enough! The link below provides a great list of fun ideas to bring levity to work. A few of my favorites from the list include:

• Establish a Fun Committee – I have implemented these on a couple of teams that I managed and the result has always been fun and something that I would have never planned on my own. The events brought memories and team bonding that last to this day.
• Create a humor bulletin board – I love this idea! At work we have a bulletin board that has For Sale items, charity events, etc. How fun it would be to be able to read humorous postings while waiting for my coffee to brew.
• Put up photos of the management team when they were children – I’ve been involved when we’ve matched baby pictures to team members. It was fun to see who hadn’t changed and who looked nothing like themselves as children.

I enjoyed finding the list and found myself thinking about how to implement a few of the ideas at work. Perhaps I’ll go post yesterday’s Dilbert on the coffee room wall….
